How A small sketch on a piece of paper became inspiration for a series of paintings and prints. Inspired by glossy fashion magazine advertising, R.A. Vizcarra drew together a series of lips from the photographs of super models found in magazine pages. Some time later, this small drawing inspired the first of three paintings and several years later,  a series of silkscreen prints.

The Starlet, Version 1, was the first painiting inspired by the drawing created in 2011. It features the Hollywood sign. This painting was destroyed in a fire. 

The Starlet, Version 3. The last painiting of the series was created in 2020.  The background of this painting was also isnpired by the Ennis House in Los Angeles by Frank Lloyd Writght.
