Juan Carlos Vizcarra’s Cinemathique series of paintings explore the relationship between fantansy and reality, created by the television and cinema industry in Hollywood, blurring the line between fine art and entertainment. The LAX series paintings depict iconic Los Angeles locations that make the city a virtual movie backdrop. His Buddha series speak to the inner self, meditation, internal observation and retrospection. He grew up and lives near Hollywood and Los Feliz, in Los Angeles, California since 1980.
